“Muslim Evangelism—Joel Rosenberg, the Messianic Jew who is a bestselling novelist, recently posted an amazing report on his web blog concerning Muslim evangelism...

  • Afghanistan—There were only 17 known Evangelical Christians in the country before the 9/11 attack on the U.S. Today, there are over 10,000 Afghan followers of Jesus, and the number is growing steadily.
  • Uzbekistan—There were no known Muslim converts to Christ in 1990. Now there are more than 30,000.
  • Kazakhstan—There were only 3 known Evangelical Christians before the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Today there are more than 15,000 Kazakh Christians.
  • Iraq—There were only a handful of Muslim converts to Christianity in 1979 when Saddam Hussein took control of the country. Today, there are more than 70,000 believers who were former Muslims.
  • Iran—In 1979 when the Ayatollah Khomeini led the Islamic Revolution, there were only about 500 known Muslim converts to Christianity. Today, there are over one million Shia Muslim believers in Christ.
  • Egypt—More than one million Egyptians have put their faith in Jesus over the past decade. The Egyptian Bible Society reports that whereas they used to sell about 3,000 copies of the Jesus film each year in the early 1990s, they sold 600,000 copies in 2005! That same year, they also distributed 750,000 copies of the Bible on tape (in Arabic).”
